Nolan Wible keeps a busy schedule freelancing in greater Southeastern Louisiana. Versatility is at the core of Nolan`s musical ambitions. He can be found in a wide variety of settings from classical chamber music to playing lead trumpet in a big band and everything in between. As a side man and music arranger, Nolan can be heard on six different albums and is a featured soloist on Bryan Tuk`s “Life in High Gravity”. Nolan has had the opportunity to perform with The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Big Boy Brass, Doug Stone, Brian Shaw, Lawrence Sieberth, The Groove Merchants, Sonora Dinamita, Roderick Paulin, John Gray, Big Sam, Brasshearts Brass Band, Bryan Tuk, Ned Fasullo, and Joe Kenney.
Nolan is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Musical Arts at LSU under the direction of Matthew Vangjel and Doug Stone. At LSU, he serves as a Teaching Assistant to the Jazz Department and plays lead trumpet in the LSU Jazz Ensemble. Nolan also participates in the LSU Wind Ensemble and other chamber groups at the university. As a member of the LSU Gold Brass Quintet, Nolan was a semifinalist in the 2023 International Trumpet Guild Conference Chamber Music Competition.
Educating and giving back are a large part of Nolan`s musical passions. As a teacher, Nolan currently serves as a Teaching Artist for Kid`s Orchestra in Baton Rouge, LA. Through this program, Nolan teaches a variety of private and group lessons as well as clinics and masterclasses. Nolan is also the trumpet instructor at Baton Rouge Catholic High School. He has worked with many high schools and middle schools as a teaching assistant and has even written music for school ensembles. Nolan has been teaching privately for over 10 years. Having taught everyone from beginners, to more advanced players, Nolan is always looking for new students to help further them along their musical journey.
